Busts of internal employees were created for Wargaming Seattle for an undisclosed project in 2017-2018 to be used as tank/background/hero crew. A scanning station was setup in our 2-man character office where either me or my lead, Jacob Binkowski (mostly Jacob), would scan the individual with an Artec Spider handheld scanning device. Photos of the subjects were then taken as they sat in an office chair and were spun around in 12 different positions to capture the entire head. The scans were cleaned, all facial details recreated with Texturing XYZ alphas, and the photographs were projected one after the other in Mudbox. The map was taken into Photoshop to clean up the dark areas between photos and final polish. The finalized head could be completed between 24 and 32 hours.
